Duolingo

I’ve only been using Duolingo for a few weeks now, but I really like it. It’s easy to use, starts off basic, and you can learn a lot of any language on it.

First you have to log in using an account from google or, if your a student, your normal login. From there you have to choose a language that you want to learn (shows the name as well as the flag from the country). After that, it’ll give you a whole list of things you can learn (basics, family, places, actions, adjectives, etc.).

Also, if you’re in a class as one of the students, you can have your teacher give you certain assignments to work on and learn specific words and phrases faster. You can do exercises anywhere if you have internet and are signed in. You can download the app on your iPhone/iPad/device or search it up in Google to get to the website.

Hobbies – Some Fun Things I Like To Do

I have a few hobbies that I like to do every now and again.

  1. First is drawing, the main things that I’m surprisingly really good at (and am doing a whole O.W.L. presentation on). I used to draw a lot, but then I stopped because I got stressed because of school, which  was probably good because I soon caught up. In December 2019, just after Christmas, I picked up that hobby again after I got into a really well-made animation fandom. I’ve since continued it and have started getting really good at it and making art a lot.
  2. Second is singing. I love harmonizing with singers’ songs and finding something catchy to listen and sing to (even if I can’t sometimes). One drawback is that I can’t sing karaoke at all, which I don’t mind (as I mentioned, I like being able to harmonize with OG singers). I don’t like singing in front of people, but when I’m on my own, I usually do just to cure boredom or something.
  3. A small addition to drawing; painting. I like painting a lot and it’s fun because you can blend easily and make a lot of colours (unlike coloured pencils, which you have to buy in the different ones). Also, you can get a lot of detail by layering a certain colour, or do highlights and shading. The only pet peeve I have with it is painting small, small details, or messing up.
  4. Doing stuff online. I love just relaxing and watching YouTube, or playing games, or going on social media (rarely). Also, whenever I go to my aunt’s place, I love playing on the Wii and using (wasting) a lot of my time just doing fun games on it.

Thanks for reading about my hobbies, hope you enjoyed!

Make-Believe and Imagination

I really like just thinking of the most random things (that’s probably why I day dream a lot). It usually kicks in when I listen to a song, or watch a movie. I can imagine different things that the music makes me feel and even come up with my own music videos because I’m weird and like doing things like that.

It’s fun to imagine all kinds of things, and making up things. For example; a snake with legs.

It would honestly just be a lizard, but it’s still fun to think of it.

Also, if things didn’t exist, and things did exist, and what it would be like to do this and that, or go there. You can think of so many scenarios and different things that sometimes it might get out of control.

Whenever I’m listening to music, I usually think about what it makes me feel, and I come up with a lot of different ideas an artist could make a music video out of, but I get so into it, sometimes I don’t want people to bother me, or I ignore others. I do try to listen to conversation, but c’mon, nothing’s more interesting than imagination, and if you get to share that, it’s probably better.

Also, the fact you could probably never be bored with your own mind if your thinking of a lot of elaborate things? That’s really cool if you ask me.

Isolation and My Personal Thoughts on Coronavirus

Coronavirus sucks and I feel like we can all agree on this. Some people think it’s a hoax, but it’s real. There are tons of people that don’t care and do whatever they want, putting themselves and others all around them in danger (which is plain stupid).

I personally don’t think it’s a hoax at all because over a million people have already died because of it, and some people close to me have already had to get tested for it. Luckily, they don’t have it.

As for isolation, people who do get it should isolate themselves to avoid spreading anything to anyone else, even if they feel it’s just the common cold or a slight flu. Whenever I start to feel sick, or get a symptom of something that isn’t my allergies, I would like to keep a distance from people around me, just to be cautious.

Coronavirus is affecting everyone, but it’s better to deal with hand sanitizer and washing your hands, wearing a mask, and doing social distancing that getting it and having to isolate yourself from your friends and family. I know it’s what I’d rather do, anyways.

Hope you enjoyed me talking about a pandemic in some strange way!

Among Us – Some Video Game That Blew Up

Among Us is a free mobile game (5$ on Steam) about crewmates and imposters. It was released in 2018, and many people have been starting to notice it just now, in 2020.

When you first open the game, it will show the main screen. You can either ask for advice by clicking on “How to Play”, pressing “Freeplay” to practice being imposter and crewmate, “Online” to play the actual game, or “Local” to play Among Us via Wi-Fi with friends.

When you press how to play, the game gives you a full list of almost every basic thing you need to know when playing as either crewmate or imposter. When you’re a crewmate, you get specific tasks that you need to finish in order to win the game. Once every crewmate has finished their tasks, either alive or as a ghost, that team wins.

However, if you’re an imposter, your job is to hunt down and kill as many players as you can. You can hide in vents, and sabotage different things depending on the map you play on. There can be 1, 2, or 3 imposters among the crewmates, and once there are the same amount of crewmates as there is imposters, the imposters win.

There are 3 different maps you can chose to play on when you want to join a server; The Skeld, Mira HQ, or Polus. You can also choose to host a game yourself, join a public server with random people, or find a private server to play with friends or fans.

You can also buy pets, hats, and outfits for your character, which, I should have said, is a very plain-looking spaceman. Most accessories are less that 4$ when you buy them, and they can help find your character a lot less boring.

There are also 12 different colours your character can be; Black, White, Blue, Cyan (Seen Above), Red, Orange, Brown, Green, Lime, Yellow, Purple, And Pink. This feature helps people who are playing the game differentiate who the imposter(s) might be, and who is safe and known as a actual crewmate (imposters aren’t supposed to be obvious, they have to blend in with the crewmates in order to win).

Whenever a dead body is found, it can be reported. There are also emergency meeting if someone hasn’t found a corpse, but has seen someone enter a vent, or fake a task, or anything else suspicious. Whenever one of these 2 things happens, a voting chart and a chat button will pop up for you to start deciding who to vote off, or skip the meeting if no one seems to be an imposter early in the game. This goes on until there are no more imposters, or until there are a same amount of crewmates and imposters.Among Us Review - Better Late Than Never - Game Informer
