WW – 2nd Publication – Cats or Dogs?

What do you think is better; cats or dogs? I personally prefer cats, mostly because dogs can be extremely annoying and obnoxious if they aren’t properly trained.

Here are some reasons I don’t like dog:

  1. They are messy, and take forever to train.

If you’ve ever had a dog, you may have noticed how long it takes for them to learn not to do its business in the house, or not to destroy everything they see, or teach them tricks and where their food is (and not to eat yours). Also, if a dog is extra out-of-control, then they could be even more of a hassle when they destroy absolutely everything they see when they are left alone for 2 minutes.

Cats, on the other hand, aren’t messy. All they need to know for training is to either come when they’re called (if you’re that kind of person), where their food is, and where their litterbox is. They aren’t as destructive as dogs, and if they have a tendency to scratch or claw at furniture, you can easily get them a scratching post (unlike dogs).

  1. Dogs are obnoxiously loud.

Dogs can easily get set off in a barking fit if one car passes your house. They bark forever at loud noises that last one second, and even if you try to calm them down, it usually never works. If this happens at night, it’s even worse. You could be just about to fall asleep and your dog starts going absolutely crazy because of the slightest thing.

Cats are quiet, and they really only meow if they want attention or food (usually food). They also sleep about 73% of the time, and the only loud(er) noises they make are hisses and scratches. Other than that, they are probably way quieter than dogs on any level.

  1. Dogs require a ton of attention.

Dogs are not independent at all. You have to constantly be around for them to not chew anything if they aren’t trained, and you have to let them out to do their business, leash train them if you take them into public places, teach them to come when you call, and to play with toys and do tricks for boredom reasons. Sometimes, they might need even more training if you want them to be properly trained.

Cats are very independent. They clean themselves, are probably to lazy for tricks, and can entertain themselves with toys you can buy cheap. They sleep a lot, and sure, they’ll sit on you and interrupt some important stuff, but they don’t require half the attention dogs do.

  1. Cats are better for your health.

Dogs can put a lot of stress on you because of the previous things. It’s hard to handle a dog if you work a lot and/or have school, and it can effect you mentally, especially if you are already in an already stressful enough spot.

That is why I would rather choose cats. Don’t get me wrong, some dogs are great (Therapy dogs, dogs for blind people, etc.), but my preference is definitely cats instead.

Christmas + Code Red

Christmas is almost a month away now, and I’m getting excited. Having people being isolated and being in Code Red, I am very worried, too. Having lots of people get together for Christmas and New Years, especially when there are a lot of elders, is not the safest option.

I don’t know what’s going to happen for our Christmas, but hopefully, after COVID calms down a bit (if it does), then people will be able to buy something nice for Christmas. My parents said they would just get me money for something I could buy online or in stores soon, and I don’t complain.

Also, Code Red could possibly be extended if people choose to not follow what the Government says, so that’s also a concern. Even if everyone has to stay home, I still think Christmas will be fine this year.
